Answers:
I'm not a doctor so don't use my advice as a definite diagnoses!.

However from the description you have provided me it could be blephritis or a hordeolum!. Despite the diagnoses it is a result of a bacterial infection which leads to inflammation!. Spreading from one eye to another is a hint that it is an infection!.

The brown crusts and swellings are a result of inflamed oil glands at the base of the eye brow or eye lids as a result from the infection!.

The best thing to do is to get an accurate diagnoses from a physician however there are a couple of non pharmacological methods you can try to help ease the symptoms!.

1) Wash hands before touching the eye
2) If she is using medications, make sure the tip of the bottle does not touch her eye
3) Use warm compresses (wet a towel with luke warm water) and apply to eyes 10-15 minutes/ day!.
4) You can use baby shampoo to help wash the eye and maintain proper hygiene!.

Hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

it could be anything from stye to infection of the lids(blepharitis) to an infection that is much more serious but you dont have enough specifics here to determine!. Regardless its serious enough for you to go see your eye care professional especially since its been 'months' yeah!? good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It could be glasses rubbing against her skin, sun damage, best that she goes and sees her doctor and actually get the correct diagnose to her problem!. Don't beat around the bush, do it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds to me like she has styes which are blockages of the oil glands which sit underneath the eyelashes!. Usually the oil drains out but sometimes if the oil glands get plugged because of make up, dust or debris the oil backs up and gets hard and that can cause the styes!. Tell her to use a hot washcloth on the eye 4 times a day for 10 minutes a time!. Try this for a good week or so!. If she doesn't notice an improvement then she may need to see her eye dr!. What can happen is that if the oil stays in there too long, it just gets too hard to drain out and they need to make a small incision and "scoop" it out!. Not a major surgery and very, very common!. Also the brown patches I'm guessing are on her eyelashes and not her eyebrows!? If so, I agree with the person who answered and said she could have blepharitis which also involves the oil glands!. Tell her to get some lid scrubs at the pharmacy and scrub along her lash lines twice a day and follow up with a rinse of warm water!. This, along with the hot packs, may help her considerably!. Good luck!. Doesn't sound like a horrible problem, but never hurts to see an eye dr!. at some point!. Good luck!. Hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
