Can I Just Use Spring Water as Rewetting Drops for My Contact Lenses?!

Question: Can I Just Use Spring Water as Rewetting Drops for My Contact Lenses!?
I do not like the idea of putting chemicals in my eyes, but I need rewetting drops because my contacts dry out alot (I work in front of a computer screen 9 hours a day) Can I just use spring water placed in a dropper bottle as a chemical free alternative to rewetting / lubricating drops!? Would it give me the same benefits, when all I want is moisture!? Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Absolutely not!. Never use anything other than contact lenses solution or rewetting drops for your contact lenses!.

Micro-organisms, minerals and other debris may be in spring water or distilled water!. Contact lens solution is made mostly of purified water and saline, but it also contains trace amounts of safe (and necessary) chemicals!. Using anything else could cause damage and/or infection!.

If you want something that contains less chemicals, try Healthy Eyes Multi-Purpose solution!. It can be used for cleaning as well as for rewetting drops!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Do you wear daily disposable lenses!? I understand you're not wanting to put chemicals in your eyes, but what do you soak your lenses in every night if you don't wear daily disposable lenses!? All rewetting drops and solutions have chemicals in them!. Spring water is a bad choice!. Any kind of water is a bad choice! Your eyes are hydrophobic meaning that they "hate water"!. Solution is not a good route, either, for rewetting drops!. They have cleaning agents in them, as well as surfactants, preservatives, etc!.!.!. They should only be used for cleaning and storing puposes!. If you think about it, the air we breathe probably has more pollutants and chemicals in it than your rewetting drops! If its that big of a concern to you, then I would suggest not wearing contacts and sticking to eyeglasses!. If you continue to use contacts, and you don't use anything to rewet the lenses when needed, this will be more harm for your eyes than good!. Not trying to be mean or rude, just looking out for your best interest!. Check with your eye doctor to find out what you can use in replacement!. Good luck! Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you are having trouble with dry eyes try putting a drop of saline in your contact before you put them in!. I do this every time I put my contacts in!. There isn't all the chemicals in saline it does not burn your eyes and it help keep your eye moist!. It works for me!.
Hope this helps you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Spring water is jam packed with mineral salts that will make short work of your contacts!. Contact solution is almost pure distilled water with a small trace of cleaning chemical which is perfectly safe for your eyes!.

No!. Water from any source may be contaminated with organisms that can cause very serious eye infections and be potentially blinding!. Use contact lens rewetting drops only!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
