10 points-What happens if a Cataract goes untreated?!

Question: 10 points-What happens if a Cataract goes untreated!?
Answers:
In general there's no rush, if it was a "wait some months to review" situation in the first place!.
A crystalline lens with a damaged capsule has to be removed fast, and everything else can wait!.

A traumatic cataract need not develop to complete blindness in that eye, with a white pupil, but it could take years for that to become clear* and meantime you will have poor vision in one eye and probably have more trouble with glare: oncoming headlights, low sun!.!.!.

If there is significant cataract, surgery is advisable simply for better vision!.
If there is no useful vision and the pupil is visibly yellow or white from the outside it generally should be done, as a cataract progressing beyond that stage can be a danger to the eye and even the good eye!.
But once more we are talking years, not "Now, Quickly!"

*the damage can take 10 years to manifest, but it often reaches a level then stops, as though particular "incipient damage" was done at the time which gradually shows up!.

Optometrist, retired!.

the cataract will get worse and worse - eventually only being able to see only light or nothing
use a search engine and type in "hypermature cataract" your eye will look like that! and because you cannot see out of that eye, the eye will drift out ie your eyes will not be straight
additionally, any ophthalmologist will NOT operate on a hypermature cataract because they are unaware of the rest of the health of your eye hence post operative success is uncertain

edit: oh sorry!!! don't worry it'll take a few years before it gets bad like that!. good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com
