good luck, i just went through this with my 3 sons!.

washrag is the only trick i know!.

once you start the medication they say after 24 hours its not contagious, just wash your hands constantly and dont touch your eyes!.

all 3 of my kids and wife had it , and im the only one the re caught it

good luck, it usually doesnt last long when you start medicating it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Conjunctivitis is very contagious, your son needs antibiotic drops, take him to your family doctor as soon as you can, it wont get better without it!. Ask your doctor when he can return to school!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

first off nothing will happen to your unborn, the bacterium or virus lays active solely in your eye!. Well!.!.thats not entirely true, the breed in any areas with mucus membranes however, the symptoms will be different depending on these differences in location!. If it's viral, keep your 5 year old from touching his eye and especially his other eye as it can infect the other!. Be sure to wash YOUR hands before you touch anywhere on your face, other than that, within 2 weeks it should resolve itself!. Also abstain from wearing contacts as once contacts are infected, they STAY infected despite the application of cleaning solution!. Doctors won't be able to tell you if its viral or bacterial and will just prescribe antibiotics as a precautionary measure!. But it wouldn't hurt to get checked up if not for anything else but an easy mind!. If it is bacterial, yes you will need antibiotics!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You probably don't need to spend the money on the ER, you will probably be stuck sitting there for hours since it's not an emergency and they take the most urgent cases first!. If you've got an urgent care clinic, like Primacare or CareNow, that would be much better, you can go in the morning when they open, and you will be in and out much faster!. He does need to go get some eye drops!. One hint, and the doc won't tell you this: When you get the eye drops, it is safe to use them more often than they tell you!. I once scratched my cornea and the eye doctor gave me the same antibiotic eye drops that are given for pinkeye!. He told me to use them every 15 minutes for the first 6 hours to speed up healing, then every hour for the next 8 hours, and then every 4 hours!. I wouldn't recommend doing it every 15 minutes with the kid, that would be a major pain in the butt, but you could probably do it once an hour or even every 2 hours!. It will heal faster!. Be sure to wash his bedsheets after it's cleared up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
