Can i still get contacts?!

Question: Can i still get contacts!?
I have astigmatism!. My glasses have a big prism in them and I have to have a surgery to correct my astigmatism and then another surgery like lasik to get rid of all the problems!. I am 17 and can't do those surgeries for another few years because my eyes are still changing!. I'm going to be in my school play and the teacher says that we can't have glasses for performances!. I have no contacts and if I take off my glasses, not only do I see blur, but I also see everything in double!. What should I do!? I really want to be in this show! Any way I can get contacts to at least not see double!? Or to see less blur!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your teacher is wrong!. The light shining onto your glasses will not blind the audience, it will only prevent your eyes from being seen!. Prop glasses have a different shape so that light doesn't reflect of them!.

You should be able to get contacts go and see your optician!. I also have astigmatism and wear contacts!.

As far as surgeries, I was also told when I was younger that there was one available to correct astigmatism but I'm in my 30s now and never had the surgery!. As far as I know, LASIK can be used to correct astigmatisms and near or far sightedness ast the same time!.

If you can't get the teacher to change his (or her) mind, and the character doesn't wear glasses, try and memories the exact positions that you need to be in so that you don't trip up!. I know it sounds stupid but it does actually work, I've tried it at the shop that I work in and can walk around the shop blindfolded and know exactly where I am!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Talk to your teacher!. If they don't understand then they are discriminating!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Unfortunately if you need prism correction (which is for the double vision), you cannot get contacts to correct for this!. I agree with the first poster: your teacher should not be able to deny you the position because you wear glasses!. There are many people who have to wear glasses and can't go without them or wear contacts and they should not be discriminated against in something as simple as a school play!. I would go above the teacher to the principal and make a complaint!. You could also have your parents complain, which I know is cheesy, but it usually helps!. :) I doubt the audience would be bothered by reflections on your lenses!. You may even have an anti-reflection coating on them (call your doctor's office if you can't tell)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
