Eye infection not clearing?!
Question: Eye infection not clearing!?
I've had this eye infection since last monday, went to the emergency room on tuesday and was given "Erythromycin" to put in my eye, was told it'd clear up after 2 days if I put it in 3-4 times a day!. It's now nearly a week since, and it's still not cleared!. Hardly even better!. Infact!.!. feels like its getting bad again!. Do I keep putting the Erythromycin in my eye, or do I wait it out!? I don't want to lose my vision, this is just stupid!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You need to go back for a further check up!.
There are three possibilities - and all of them need further assessment:
First: you do indeed have an eye infection but the antibiotic you were given is not the right one for you - some bugs don't respond to erythromycin
Second: you have a virus infection, not bacterial - which will not respond at all to antibiotics but will respond to antiviral treatment
Thirdly - you have an inflammation condition in the eye, not an infection - and need further assessment and treatment!. Inflammation conditions can often initially look like infection!.
