Parameters for reading glasses?!

Question: Parameters for reading glasses!?
My mom asked me to buy her glasses for reading!. As you can guess, she has a farsightedness!.

Of course, most of shops can provide the eye check-up before making one, but she is leaving in another country so I am uncertain whether those parameters would be the same in Asia as in Europe (I am living in the Central Europe - Poland, while my mom in SE Asia - Vietnam)!.

So can anyone explains for me waht those parameters mean & are they really necessary to be measured!. Here are they:
S
C
A

My mom said to me that both of her eyes are of +2!.00 diop!. So why are 3 parameters here!?

Thanks a lot for your help!. I am really grateful for your time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
S = Sphere
C = Cylinder
A = Axis

Your Mom with a +2!.00 would be just the sphere power!. There is no Cylinder or axis!.

If you are ordering those at an online site, you will also have to know her PD ( pupillary distance )

You may as well pick her up a couple of pairs of + 2!.00 in a pharmacy of those ready made readers, if you have them there!.

PS!.!.!.if she uses them just for reading, then she is presbyopic, not farsighted!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

How do you know that your mother is farsighted!? How is her distance vision!? If her distance vision is clear and comfortable, then she is not farsighted!. If she takes +2!.00 each eye, get her a pair of +2!.00 reading glasses!.

The dioptric values are the same in all countries!. They were the same 150 years ago as they are now!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like your mom just needs reading glasses!.

Glasses prescriptions generally include 3 parameters:
Sphere power (S), Cylinder power (C) and Axis (A)!.

Not all peope have all three parameters in their prescription!. It depends on the shape/curvature of the person's eyes!. If her eyes are the same power in every meridian, then there will only be one parameter listed on her prescription: Sphere power!. If her eyes have a slightly different power in the two main meridians of the eye, then all three parameters will be listed!. The last two (Cylinder and Axis) always go together!. They indicate how much and where in the lens the power should be different for that eye!.
The power measurement (Diopters) should be the same for different parts of the world!. Your mom may not be farsighted!. If she only uses the glasses for reading and near work, then she is probably not farsighted, but is presbyopic instead!. Presbyopia just means "old eyes" and the eye does not focus on objects at near anymore!. It happens to everybody usually between the ages of 40-50!. You may be able to buy her a pair of +2!.00 D reading glasses from a drug store!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
