Do you have floaters in your eyes? Is it pretty common?!

Question: Do you have floaters in your eyes!? Is it pretty common!?
Answers:
They are very common, especially as people get older or if they are short sighted it can happen younger!. The vitreous (the jelly bit) inside the eye is in an enclosed space and is not renewed so it just gets a bit mucky!.!.:-) also as you get older you can get something called a PVD (posterior vitreous detachment) which is where the jelly slightly falls away from the retina which causes loads of floaters, sometimes flashing lights (where it is tugging at the retina) and sometimes even a retinal detachment!. This means that if you get new floaters that seem to be getting gradually worse, or that are accompanied by flashing lights or that are followed by a curtain like appearance to your sight in that eye, it is important that you visit an eye care professionalWww@Answer-Health@Com

Its relatively common but most people go their whole lives without noticing them!.
I would go to an eye doctor just to check out and see if everything is good and safe!. I have floaters but only notice them when looking at something large and bright - like the sky!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
