I've had both!. I'm not sure one is "better"!.
The main difference is changing from one style to the other!. The pads sit on a different place on your nose so your nose gets a bit tender while getting used to the new style!. Obviously there are a bit more adjustments that can be made with the nose pads!. The ones without nose pads may be a bit more rugged (e!.g!. if you are putting glasses on a young child, playing football, etc!.)!.
