Burst capillary? Remove contacts? ?!
Question: Burst capillary!? Remove contacts!? !?
I think I burst a capillary in my eye but I'm not sure (came after I had a really bad bout of vomiting from food poisoning)!. It's been two days now but because of the holiday I've not been able to get to the optometrist yet!. The blood seems to be spreading but stops along the rim of my contact!. So I have these three questions:
1) Is this a burst capillary!?
2) If so, will it heal on it's own and how long will it take!?
3) Should I remove my contact while it heals!? (I wear extended wear contacts for two weeks at a time!.) The blood is spreading and I'm concerned it will go into my pupil if I remove my contacts!. (Not sure if that's even possible but who knows!.)

Answers:
I would definitely take out your contacts and wear glasses instead if you have them!. The reason for this would be that contacts can irritate your eyes and make problems worse!. I wouldn't be too concerned about the blood in your eye!. More than likely it is just a blood vessel that has ruptured and should heal and drain on its own!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
