What is the purpose of the eye brow?!
Question: What is the purpose of the eye brow!?
I'm sitting on the crapper staring at the mirror, this is where I do my best thinking!. And then it dawns on me, why do we have eyebrows!?
We cut our hair, shave our legs, arm pits, and that other place (wink, wink), men shave their beards and mustaches!. I understand leg hair and arm hair, it protects us from chaffing with our clothes, hair, beards, mustaches, probably a left over from our neanderthal days to protect us from the cold, eye lashs and nose hair are filters!.!.!.but what purpose does the eyebrow serve!? And, of all the hair on our body, why do we never have to shave it( excluding really old men)!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I used to think it was to keep sweat and stuff out of your eyes!. But then I noticed the other day that my friend's dog had longer hair above her eyes and I thought, "Why would an animal who has hair over her entire body need eye brows to keep stuff out of her eyes!?" And that's when I realized!.!.!.WE HAVE EYE BROWS TO HELP US COMMUNICATE WITH ONE ANOTHER!.

You have your eyebrows to protect your eyes!. Say you were in a sandstorm, the eyebrows would partially protect your eyes!. Also, so that a lot of water won't drip into our eyes, the hair on the eyebrow would make most of the water drip of, protecting your eye!. The eyelashes complete the protecting job!. We never have to shave our eyebrows because they don't really grow!. They grow like 1 inch every 2 years or something!. Some people don't grow eyebrows at all!. It is called a vestigial part of the body, meaning that it is a leftover from our earlier 'evolution'!. It is likely that it was used as a deterrent to dirt, sweat or anything else impeding vision back then, much as the eyelashes protect the eyes from dust, dirt, sweat, etc!. and always have!. In earlier evolution the brow (forehead) overhung the eyes and the hair was obviously thicker protecting vision and injury!.

God had a purpose for everything!. I'm not sure that purpose is still valid for eyebrows though!. Many women, especially in the middle east have them removed and get a tattoo or use a whateveryoucallit pencil to draw them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it's to help keep things from getting in your eyes!. also, it helps create expression (this probably isnt why it was evolved!.!.!.but eyebrow movement is very expressive of emotion)!. Also, many people wax, pluck, and, yes, cut their eyebrows!. We don't "have" to cut or shave the things you mentioned, it is all our idea of beauty and cleaniliness!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
We have eyebrows because that area of the face is where the sun hits most directly!. Eyebrows protect us from sunburn, or at least they evolved that way!. As to why we don't have to shave them, we don't HAVE to shave any place on our bodies!. We do because it looks better, but we don't shave eyebrows because that would not look better haha!. Before we evolved in to what we are now, eyebrows and eye lashes served the purpose of keeping dirt and germs out of your eyes, to protect them!. Just like how nose hair keeps you from breathing in lots of germs!.
