Question: Should diabetics have lasar eye surgery!?
Answers:
For those who have answered this questions flippantly: This is in fact a very good question, significant diabetic retinopathy is a contra-indication of refractive laser treatment!. Some clinics will not treat a diabetic patient at all, others will only treat Type II diet controlled!.

We treat Type I or II regardless of control so long as no significant diabetic retinopathy is observed!.

So short answer: yes you can, but don't be too surprised if you have to go via a number of clinics in order to find one that will treat you!. Start looking at www!.lasik-eyes!.co!.uk - should give you a good starting point!.

I've had copious amounts of laser surgery, but that's been for retinopathy!. I guess you're talking about the kind of surgery that affects your distance viewing!.

I would agree with the earlier, sensible, response that the best person to ask would be an ophthalmologist or an optometrist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

diabetics can have laser eye surgery for the damage that diabetes does to the eyes (retinopathy)!. the best way to find out if someone with diabetes can get vision-correcting eye surgery is to ask an optician!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

don't ask optician because the ophthalmologist who perform the treatment will give you the best advice as i know sometimes the operation can be done only when your diabetics measurement settle down!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
