No, because you see through your pupil not your iris!. Unless the contact slides in front of your pupil then maybe!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
If your coloured contacts are the right fit and place perfectly on your eye you wont see the colour!. ( im aussie i spell colour different) But if They are not the correct fit the the contact will move into your visual field and you will see the colour!. Its best to get fitted for coloured contacts at the optometrist so that they fit correctly and so they teach you the correct method of taking care of your contacts so you can keep our eyes healthy! Once i bought coloured contacts and all i could see was red!. And it was because i had astigmatism and longsightedness and needed glasses!

If you had on blue colored contacts you wouldn't be seeing blue!. So the answer is no when you're wearing them you don't see the color of the contact through your eye!. Your eye will appear to be that color but you won't actually see in that color!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Seems like your friend do not want you to have colored contacts, their jealous, and know you cannot see the color ive been wearing contacts for years!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
