What can I do about the floaters in my eyes, when Ive already seen 4 doctors?!

Question: What can I do about the floaters in my eyes, when Ive already seen 4 doctors!?
Im almost 22 right now and these started when I was 18, really almost overnight without any sort of physical trauma or anything!. My grandfather on my mothers side has glacoma!. I went to a doctor who thought it was glacoma (afterwards while researching my family history I found out my grandfather has it) but she wanted a second opinion since its much rarer at my age!. I did, 3 more and those three just said we dont know, theyre just floaters, but all of them really obviously didnt care!. I say that not because they didt have an answer, but because they really obviously didnt care!

I was given a bottle of drops, designed to sstop the glacoma where its at, but not a prscription, just something to take as a prcaution!.

I feel like the floaters are getting bigger!. I dont have health or even vision insurance now and I wont get it for another 7 months!.

Any thoughts or suggestions!?

This is a really inportant issue so thank you all for pitching in your 2 cents!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's highly unlikely that they are anything to do with glaucoma or contacts!. Floaters or spots are small, semi-transparent or cloudy particles in the vitreous!. Floaters may appear as specks, thin strand or cobwebs in front of your eyes and are most visible when you look at a plain light background such as a blank wall or the sky!. They move with your eyes if you try to focus on them!.

Floaters may be caused by a number of problems!. They often occur naturally as part of the ageing process when the fluid in the eye deteriorates!. Some eye conditions or an injury to the eye can cause floaters!. They can even occur before birth as a result of trapped protein or other matter during the formation of the eye in the womb!.

Floaters and flashes are generally more common in older people!. The vitreous humour thickens and clumps as we get older and this causes floaters!. Some people are more at risk of developing floaters such as those that are short sighted, those who have had cataract surgery, those who have had some type of laser treatment or those who have had an inflammation in the eye!.

Most people find that floaters disappear after a period of time and they are only a temporary discomfort!. If floaters suddenly appear and are accompanied by flashes of light or you lose any peripheral vision, it could be a sign of something which does need treatment!.

These symptoms together could indicate diabetic retinopathy, retinal haemorrhage or a retinal detachment!. If the shrinking vitreous gel pulls away from the wall of the eye, the retina could tear!. This can lead to bleeding in the eye which may appear as new floaters!. If this occurs you should go to the hospital eye clinic straight away for urgent treatment!. Always visit your optician to check that floaters or flashes are not a sign of another eye condition!.

I got floaters in my left eye a couple of years ago when I was 19!. I was also told there was no real cause or reason for them showing up - it's just luck whether you get them or not!. And they could very well last forever or leave just as easily as they came!. I was told that they were an annoyance, but benign!. I hope so!Www@Answer-Health@Com

GO see more doctors!. More opinions!. My friend had this lump, she went to 2 doctors, but they said it was alright!. It was actually cancer, and she found it out too late!. If she had gone to more doctors to have their opinion, she would have known!.

Hope it helps you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
