Answers:
Going by your symptoms and desciption, "my eyes quickly go from left to right in a splitsecond," I think you have developed an eye condition called "Nystagmus"!. It's a condition of the eye where involuntary rapid movements occur from left to right (or right to left)!.
I have seen patients come into the office and the Dr has diagnosed them with this condition!.
I hope this helps!.!.
Ask your eye Dr!. about it!.

Check out this web site if you want to read more about the condition:

WOW-
I don't want to be a drama queen, but you need to get that looked at-I have similar symptoms, and I am sure that you don't have all the additional symptoms I have(bad balance, trouble writing, etc) but I DO have the eye flickering you do-
I have had it checked out by numerous people, including an Optometrist (who took me seriously) a Neurologist, and (believe it or not) a Neurological Opthamologist(who knew there was such a thing!?)
I suggest seeing a neurologist, tell them your problem, and make sure they recreate it-It can be the symptom of many things, both serious and not serious-Don't wait!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just to clarify, I'm not entirely sure if both your eyes are doing this at the same time or if they 'flicker' separately at random times!. I sometimes get a 'twitch' in one of my eyes (either one it doesn't matter)!. This usually happens when I'm tired or haven't had much sleep, if I'm stressed out, or if I'm very nervous!. My eyesight isn't very great either!. This used to be a large problem for me when I was in school because I would be reading or looking at the blackboard and the words would merge together so that I was unable to see clearly!. It would subside after a minute or two but, this really stinks when you're taking a timed test!. I have been told that it is normal but, annoying to say the least!. It can be caused by the reasons I stated above or by too much caffeine!. Granted this is what my optometrist told me!. I would suggest cutting back on caffeine, trying to get more sleep, and perhaps practice a breathing method for whenever you start to feel stressed or nervous!. If your eye problem isn't like mine then go back to your doctor or try to find a new one that takes you seriously!. Hope I helped!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i'm assuming your eye doctor is an optometrist, you should ask your eye doctor to recommend an ophthalmologist!. or ask your GP to recommend an ophthalmologist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
