Everything under the skin is "important"!. But is this tissue critical in regard to permanent damage to the eye!? No!.
The eye is enclosed within and surrounded by a bony orbit!. If you will take your fingers and with light pressure run them around your face from the eye brow to the side and then just below the eye and then toward the nose, you will be able to feel a circular ridge of bone whose purpose is to absorb blows such as you received!. The bony ridge around the eye prevents most forceful blows from actually striking the eye itself with enough force to damage the eye!. Because it absorbs the majority of the force of the blow, though, it is common to see bruising around the eye!. Chances are relatively good that no permanent damage will come from this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
