I'm colorblind, what jobs can't i have?!
Question: I'm colorblind, what jobs can't i have!?
so a few years ago for a physical i took a colorblind test and im just like my dad, can't really distinguish red from green, just that red is a little lighter, and to me there s no purple, its just a dark blue!. i never noticed until people started saying that i didn't color things accurately, like tree leaves i painted red!. so are there any jobs/ careers that this will limit!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, obviously you won't be a painter or interior decorator!. And you wouldn't want to be an electrician either!. For the most part though, very few careers are eliminated because of color blindness!. You will have already adapted to it, and are aware of your own limitations- so you can always make adjustments for the odd situation when color determination is important!. I work with a nurse who is also colorblind, and that's what he does!. There are a few things that are color coded, like the vacuum tubes we use to draw blood samples, and things like needles!. Fortunately they are also labeled clearly, and he simply reads labels instead of choosing by color!. If he finds one out of place, he doesn't use it or he asks one of us to identify it for him!. And for the record there, as far as how you see purple- color perception varies a lot between people, which is why some folks will say something is navy blue and others will claim it's black, and so on!. Shades of various colors are open to a pretty wide interpretation!. So you won't be matching paint colors!. But there are still lots of other career options that are not color critical, and you will be able to adapt for those few situations when color becomes an issue!. pssh you can be a watever designer you like,,
you'll just might not be as good as full sighted designers,
as they can distinguish the colours and create better combinations which might make the design look better,
but yeah, you can't be pilot,
