Problems with new contacts. Might I need a different brand?!

Question: Problems with new contacts!. Might I need a different brand!?
I got contacts for the first time yesterday, and they are absolutely painful! From the moment I put them in, I wanted to die!. I could only wear them an hour and a half yesterday and about an hour today!. I have Acuvue 2!. I've heard that some people need to try different brands before they find the perfect one!. I know they will be a little uncomfortable and it will take time to get used to them, but these are killing me!. I've checked and they were't reversed and they aren't dry!.!. how long should I wait before giving up and trying a new brand!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Acuvue 2 is one of the old lenses made by J&J!. I fit contacts on patients and we do not prescribe this lens any longer!. We typically put perole who want the 2 week lens in the J&J oasys or the coopervision Avaira!. Which are both silcone lenses and they have a great rewetting factor!. (The avaira more so than the Oasys)
You should only put then in for an hour or so on the first day then move the time up each day!. By day 8 you should be wearing them all day!. If your eyes are extremely painful you might have an allergy to the solution though this is less common!. If the pain keeps happening take the lenses out let your eyes rest for a few days call your Dr!. and ask him if you can have trials of the two brands that I mentioned!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Getting used to them should never involve pain!. I have had contacts for almost 19 years and I never experienced real pain unless the contacts were damaged or I had an eye infection!. Yes, the eyelids need to adjust to them by getting a bit of a callous formed, but you shouldn't experience more than mild itching or a feeling of pressure!. And that should last no more than a week!.

You may be experiencing an allergic reaction to the solution products you use!. I can't use anything by Bausch and Lomb, or anything made for sensitive eyes by any company!. Otherwise, they burn!.

Some people have trouble with the disposable kind because they let more air into your eyes (more porous)!. I never experience pain, but rather my eyes stayed really dry and itchy!.

But, if you are experiencing pain that ranges in the "killing me" category, stop wearing them immediately until you can discuss it with your eye doctor!. If you continue to wear contacts that might have a problem with them that you can't see, or are an ill fit, you can quickly cause eye ulcers or scratches to the actual lens of your eye!. Stop wearing them and call the doctor, who can check to make sure there is no damage and decide if you need to try a different brand!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Usually the pain is not because of the brand but because of how you clean the lenses!. Make sure you put clean solution and let them soak at least 8hrs every day!. Then before you put them on change the solution dip them in!.!.!.wipe them in the liquid and then put them in your eyes!. Make sure that before you put them in that your hands are clean!.
And when you put them in your eyes if they move around and dont stay in one place make sure you take them out and try again!.!.dont just leave them there!. if after all theses tips and you still find youself irritated i suggest you wait at least a week and see if its getting any better!. If the pain is still unbearable i would suggest seeing your eye doctor!.It took me about 1week to get used to wearing contacts!.(it wasnt that easy in the beginning) I suggest getting acuvue oasis!. They are extra comfortable!. Or acuvue advanced!. There are some brands that do irritate the eyes more then a different one!. (the ones that irritate are usually the cheapest out there)!.!.so just be careful!. Sometimes its better to pay a litttle more for your comfort!. I hope i helped!.
