I use Acuvue contacts!. They seem to be the best for the money for me although their are lots of different brands to choose from!. Your ophthalmologist will be able to recommend a good type for you!. They cost around $25 a box and their are six in each box!. You'll need at least two boxes to start out because most of the time each eye needs a different rx!. Each pair of contacts can be used for around 2 weeks before having to be disposed of!. So two boxes costing around $50 will last you around 6 weeks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

with contacts, the first charge is the contact lens exam!. this will be in addition to the price of the glasses Rx, and should vary from 25-75 dollars, based on the optometrist you see and the type of lens you require

as far as lenses, my favorite are Avuvue Oasys - $33/box
you will need one box per eye (normally your eyes are different) and each pair of lenses can be worn for 2 weeks - so 2 boxes should last about 3 months!.

these-however, are spherical lenses!. if you have an astigmatism, you might require a toric lens!. this means that in addition to correcting your distance or near vision, you are also correcting a focusing problem!. These lenses tend to run about 30-70% more per box than a sperical lens!.

there are also lenses that can be thrown away daily, or lenses that are only changed quarterly (every three months) or yearly!. this doesn't mean you never take it out, it means that you care for your lens each day and then last that long!.

no one on Y!A is going to be able to give you an exact without knowing your Rx - or being a reputable dr!.

my suggestion would be to call the last Dr!. you had a spectacle exam from, and discuss with the staff what kind of lenses or charges you would be looking at!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Get a prescription and estimated from your optometrist!. Price varies a lot with the kind of correction!. Astigmatism makes lenses cost a lot more!. After that, ask the main brands for test samples!. You can try each one of them free and decide which works best for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
