Answers:
You mentioned you had very little sleep, this causes the cornea of your eyes to become stressed or over worked!. When this happens your eyes become much more sensitive to light!. Light in general causes your pupils to dilate and retract!. Due to the added stress on the cornea from lack of sleep, your eyes dilate more in order to try and relieve some of that stress!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This is the only reference I could find where drugs/medication or injury is not a factor!.

"Question:

What would cause pupil dilation in a normally healthy person with no medical conditions and taking no medications!?

Answer:

There are several things that can cause pupillary dilation, such as:

* some medications
* trauma to the head or eye
* specific neurological disease and certain serious conditions that damage cranial nerve III (the oculomotor nerve)

Adie's tonic pupil is another condition causing pupillary dilation and is usually considered benign!. It is thought to be caused by a loss of innervation to the muscle that constricts the pupil or makes the pupil size smaller!.

If you or someone you know is experiencing a change in pupil size, I do recommend having a comprehensive eye exam!."

the most logical explanation would be that you had just come in from the sun and when you come in to a semi dark house after being in the sun your pupils will dilate so you can see easier until you get adjusted to the new lighting!.

you should check out your mom's pupils after she comes inside!. (then you can accuse her of doing drugs LOL)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your pupils can dilate when you are very happy!. Were you in a great mood!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

skyhawk has a good answer!. read it!. except:

if both pupils are the SAME SIZE AS EACH OTHER and both pupils react to light (constrict when you shine bright light at them), and you havent had any head trauma/eye trauma and you havent taken or used any medications!.!.!.and you still see fine!.!.!.then this is most likely not dangerous!. its unlikely for a young, healthy person who sees well & has round, reactive pupils that are the same size as each other to have something seriously wrong with them!.

pupils that are different size from each other or not reactive when light shown at them, etc!.!.!.thats a much bigger deal!. but just dilation in both eyes in the absence of anything else!.!.!.unlikely to be problematic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
