My vision is very good with my reading glasses, but I feel pain?!

I suddenly started having pain in my left eye to the point tears would roll out and the eye would clamp shut!. It just happened this was right after having bought new glasses!. The opticians that I have seen for several years (so they have a history of my eyes, prescriptions, etc!.) has two other partners!. All three examined my eyes several times, completely replaced the glasses three times using different type of material for lenses, had two different technicians measuring the eye, etc!. After several months they gave up and sent me to an opthimologist who put dye in my eye!. He found a very, very fine wood fiber that the wind had blown into eye!. IMMEDIATE RELIEF once removed, although I did have to use eye drops several months thereafter until the eye returned to normal!. The optho said *glasses* themselves would never cause that type of pain!. It's something wrong with the eye!.

When my mom was little, a pop bottle broke nearby her!. Apparently, a piece of glass flew into her eye and while slightly uncomfortable off and on throughout the years, it was no biggie!. Many years later during an eye exam, the doctor found and removed it!. Go figure!.
