Question: Can i get laser eye surgery with OCD!?
I have suffered with OCD for about 10 years, so there's no getting around it and I've heard that it could prevent me from being able to have laser eye surgery!. Is this true!? If so, why!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

lasik surgeons (and i suppose all surgeons, especially cosmetic) wish to avoid unhappy patients!. patients who have OCD are more likely to be extremely aware of slight changes or "less than perfect" results!. because it is expensive and cosmetic, of course people want the best results possible, but it is surgery and no doctor can guarantee a perfect outcome!.
i used to work in a lasik practice and although there was no POLICY disqualifying OCD patients (as that's probably illegal), i can see why they would be reluctant to operate on certain extreme cases!. if you are desperate to have it done and are aware that you may be left with less than perfect results, simply don't disclose your disease at the consult and see if you are an otherwise good candidate!.
