Is this myth true about contact lenses?!

Question: Is this myth true about contact lenses?
I heard that if I just use contact lenses instead of glasses they can be Bad for my eyes?

Answers:

Contact lenses aren't necessarily bad for your eyes. Many people wear contact lenses without issues. However, people sometimes wear contacts far too long than safely recommended, or they sleep, swim, shower etc. in contacts that haven't been approved for that type of wear. Generally, if you take the time to properly care for and clean your contacts, along with following usage guidelines, you shouldn't have horrible problems with them. Ask about daily disposable contacts - they are easier to maintain because you just take them out and throw them away each day and pop in a new pair the next.
All that being said, glasses are considered safer because there is less risk to the health of your eyes. Contacts may induce dry eyes, some discomfort, and can cause infections if not worn and maintained properly.

This is a myth....

IF managed properly with your eyecare professional, CL's can be worn 24/7... However, it's always good to have a break now and again... and have an updated pair of glasses that you can use in case of emergency (eg, eye infection, CL tear or lost)...

For people who wear contact lenses constantly, the danger signs are NEOVASCULARISATION. This is where your eyes are choking and not breathing enough oxygen (coz the contact lens is 'clogged' or dirty... ) and blood vessels grown into your cornea to supply it with Oxygen and Nutrients. Hence if you want to wear CL's constantly, you must get them regularly checked (bi-annually) for signs like these.

Some contact lenses are bad for your eyes. Or alot are! You can get blinde, or your eyes can get hurt easily by being scratched up and stuff. I wear glasses and i will never wear contacts for the rest of my life because my big brother wore contacts and he almost lost his eyesight.
