if my glasses aren't a very strong prescription?!

Question: If my glasses aren't a very strong prescription?
would it be safe to say 1.25 is my magnification? I can see alright, but my eyes get a little tired. I just hate wearing my bifocals all the time and my insurance won't pay for new glasses for another year. I just want something I can wear all the time when I'm not reading or driving so I'm not constantly having to look over my bifocals, so I'm thinking about hitting up the drugstore for a pair. I won't wear them if they're too strong...but I can only find 1.25 and up. thanks for your help.

If you have a pair of BIFOCALS, why would you need to look OVER them to see? Shouldn't the top part of your bifocals be set for Distance/General vision? If you can't see through the top part of your bifocals, then I fear that your eyes have deteriorated.

Also, how old are you?... If you're young - say less than 30yrs old, and you have bifocals... this means that you have certain types of EYE MOVEMENT problems needing 2 different prescriptions for 2 different distances. Your Rx, although may not be strong, but are very special.

Ready-made glasses from the drugstore/gas station/markets.... may be able to relax your eyes a little, but won't correct your eye movements... which means that it could make your eyes more tired.

Find out what your prescription number is and go by that. Walmart has a chart you can also go by if you don't know the prescription number. Just try them on and and see if you can read with them good and feel comfortable with them.

It's possible but not definite. You should be able to find out your prescription from your eye doctor.
