Glasses question? *desperately want answered*?!

Question: Glasses question? *desperately want answered*?
Skip towards bottom if you don't want to hear about many of the symptoms and such. Sorry about length just really need to get it all out.

I had just about 20/20 until 6th grade. Then I got glasses which annoyed me to no end- I was a fiercely physical boy. But over time my physicality changed. I mean, beyond what I'd call "normal teenage hormonal changes". I became more and more tired and sluggish at all times of day. I kept finding this kind of "block" in my mind. I ignored my surroundings a lot more, which was an insane concept at the time- I'd had over twenty referrals for fighting in elementary school alone, and terrified MS teachers that I might continue. I would walk from class to class reading a book (against the flow of hallway traffic- I just didn't care). I also developed a disease called chronic urticaria (hives that last 24/7 and have for the last 5 years) but that may be urelated. I had also begun being under benadril because of it. I lost much imagination and physical drive- I started to work more predictably and spend more time in my thoughts. Pretty much comatose for the entire time. Also, from straight A's, my grades dunked MAJORLY (almost all failing) over the three years.

Same pattern continued into high school. Then, last year, I got contacts which helped me be a bit more social for some reason- and I'd never been ashamed of my glasses other than the weakness in a fight it gave me. Then I was diagnosed with ADD in late sophomore (last) year and given Adderall, and my grades jumped from a 1.6 GPA to 2.66 within two months.

But the doctor is worried it may not be ADD as the medicines don't get rid of that 'block' I feel. And I recently ran out of contacts, switched back to glasses until money comes by, and got much of that feeling back.

I'm wondering is there a connection between glasses and the mentality? I remember that when I was young I was extremely fit, energetic, creative, confident and social. The opposite after I got glasses. Could it be some cause for my current absentmindedness and such? Like the magnification could mess with my mind's connection to a sense (sight) and be screwing with my head? I'm almost through Junior year now.

Also, I get this out-of-body experience when I take the glasses off during the day that feels so much better it's unimaginable.

Hives are a sudden skin rash. Usually a result of an allergic reaction your body had, usually to food, medication, your environment and sometimes even stress.

Allergic reactions are basically your body's version of friendly fire, your body is defending itself against a non-enemy. Your body's weapon of choice for this battle is histamines.

Your body releases histamines in order to fight against what it thinks is the enemy. When your body over reacts and too many histamines build up in one spot you end up with what's known as hives.

Hives usually spread around the torso, upper thighs, and arms. It's very rare to have hives appear around the head or neck area.

Some things you will want to do to start getting relief from the discomfort of hives are:

* Avoid scratching the affected areas - although it can drive you crazy, scratching your hives will only make it worse.
* Stay away from alcohol
* Avoid tight fitting clothing - the pressure on the skin will just intensify the urge to scratch
* If the affected area is only in one small area you can apply ice wrapped in a towel to the area to relieve the discomfort.
* Taking cool showers or baths will also help with the itching
* Take an antihistamine to relieve the itching and eventually reduce the swelling

Typically, antihistamines such as Benadryl are taken to treat allergic reactions. The problem with using products like Benadryl is that they also include some not so pleasant side effects.

In this case the side effects include dizziness, drowsiness, coordination problems, heartburn, insomnia, tremor, nausea and vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, dry mouth, and dry cough and others.

I think you will find the natural or homeopathic alternatives to be more favorable since they go to work without causing drowsiness or any of the other negative side effects.

Often times nature has a fix for the ailments we have, the problem is we've been trained to believe that they don't work.

Mentality??

I don't know about that, but I do know that there is a connection between studying and grades!
