My eyes are really bothering me?!

Question: My eyes are really bothering me?
I've worn contacts for about 2 years now and they never bothered me before, but for the past couple weeks my eyes have been dry and irritated, or watery and irritated or somehow both dry and watery. I don't have glasses and I can't see well without my contacts.. I'm guessing they have to be the problem, right? I'm using the same solution, cleaning them well and switching pairs at the necessary time.. It often happens after I look at a screen or bright light, but sometimes it happens when I'm not so I'm not sure if that's part of the cause... Any advise?

Answers:

This is your body telling you something is wrong. Listen to your body and take the necessary measures to alleviate the situation. Question is - do you wear your contacts all the time? When do you take them out? Are you allowing your cornea to get enough oxygen so it can be healthy or are you depriving it of needed oxygen by wearing your contacts too long?

These are the early warning signs that something is starting to happen. Take corrective action. Take your contacts out at night after you get home. Either go without them and make it around the house or get a cheap pair of glasses to wear around the house. This isn't going away and it will get worse. You've built up to this point and ... the cliff is not far off.

Right now your eyes have finally reached a point where they are irritated. Continue on in the same manner and you could possibly be looking at an eye infection or a corneal ulcer.
