Should I get eye surgery?!

I have pterygium (idk if its spelled right haha) on my right eye. I think i got it a few years ago when i moved to California and spent alot of time in the sun. It is on the outer corner of my eye which my doctor says is rare. It isn't bad at all and is a very minor case but it does irritate my eye when it is windy out or if i don't get alot of sleep. I've tried using eyedrops but ran out of them a few months ago and can tell it is more red and irritated without them. The eyedrops never made it completely unoticable but i know that isn't what they are suppose to do. But the point is, it really bugs me and my eye looks red and irritated all the time and i just want it gone before it gets worse. I've researched the surgery and i've seen that there is one with stiches, and one with glue and that it sounds pretty painful. Should i just get it done and over with? or does anyone have any other options? thanks alot!
