How much vision will my brother likely get back?!

Question: How much vision will my brother likely get back?
a few weeks ago, my 11 year old brother had an accident with fireworks. he was playing with them with a few friends(being stupid) and the fireworks like a few of them or something hit him in the face near the eyes. One of them went in his eye and another one didnt go completly in his eye but damaged something like the nerves i think. he also damaged the bone above his nose. he was in the hospital for like 3 or 4 days i dont really know why though. why would he have to stay in the hospital that long?
right now, all he can see is complete black. nothing at all. the doctors in the hospital and the eye doctors say someday sooner or later(no one knows when maybe even adulthood) he will most likely get back some vision but forever be badly visually impaired.
what might he get back for vision?

I'm sorry to say this but if his vision is completely black, even when you put a light source like a flashlight in front of his eyes that is not a good sign, if his optic nerves are injured then there is no signal going to his brain, so there is 99.9% chance that his vision won't improve from that . . . there still that 0.01% though that the "DOCTOR OF DOCTORS" can correct

I agree the parents should of been thier with him, but, If, he had an eye doctors appointment... his dr. Would might give him prescribtion eye drops to directly put in his eyes to help prevent in infection to be in the eyes. Also, surgery could happen if it's really that serious.Depends on the dr himself .

I don't think anyone here will be able to tell you anymore than his doctors can. I hope It clears up soon .Everybody heals differently. I got hit in the eye with a wrench when I was 5 or so. Left a scar in my eye. Now its the better of the two eyes vision wise.

that Depends on how far the fire work went into his eye and they wanted to keep an eye on him that is why he stayed in the hospital for that long
