Neither good nor bad. Like shoe size, it is what it is.

Try playing tennis with them. You may find that your game improves. Don't worry about becoming dependant. Your vision will not get worse if you wear your glasses.

Wearing glasses doesn't make your eyesight better or worse. You become dependent on them because you get used to having decent eyesight. -3.5 isn't a very strong perscription. With glasses you wear them when it helps you to see better. As you have found out the board in class they will definitely help with. Tennis - well try it and see. You will be able to see the ball better, but you don't have the all round field of vision, they may mist up making your vision worse and you may knock them sidewise. For sports contacts are a far better option - they would almost certainly help your tennis and have none of the disadvantages of glasses. They do however cost money regularly so you might want to discuss with your parents. You are definitely old enough to have contacts.

A further clarification, one answerer said "your vision will not get worse if you wear glasses". I think they meant to say "your vision will not get worse BECAUSE you wear glasses". It is possible your vision might get a little worse, because you are still growing. (I didn't want you to blame the glasses if this happens). I think they would help you see the ball better when playing tennis. However, when you wear glasses, they slightly change the apparant size/distance of things, so it might make your tennis playing a little worse until you get used to them. This effect is less when wearing contacts.

At 3.50, you may want to wear them all the time, or most of the time. I'm in the fours, and I wear them all of the time, but take them off to play football (Lineman). I would imagine they would help you A LOT in tennis, as without glasses I doubt I could even locate the ball!
