what diopter prescription of nearsightedness should you have that you need to wear glasses full-time

Note that wearing or not wearing glasses doesn't improve or make your eyesight worse so its really personal choice. If you drive then wearing glasses is likely to be mandatory, but otherwise it depends on what suits you. For example if you have quite a mild perscription you might wear them indoors, but if its raining outside you might see better without them, if they are misting up you might see better without them, but if you are very short sighted then even with rain on your glasses you see better with. There is no strict cutoff line - you have to work out what works for you.



It doesn't depend upon prescription. It depends on how well you want to see. If you find it pleasant to see clearly all the time, then wear your glasses full time. If it doesn't bother you to see poorly some of the time, then don't wear them full time.

It is your personal choice, and only your choice matters.
