Lasik - please tell me how u feel when it is done... 10 pts HELP!?!

Question: Lasik - please tell me how u feel when it is done... 10 pts HELP!?
I have made the booking but already feared the process............ will I be able to stand the surgery? How long the lasik cut will take? How to not fear?

I have to do it as I wore too much contact lens and not good for eyes either.

BTW, I have to work after so is it ok for me to go out of town (just take a coach of 1.5 hours x 2 ways) a few days after?

I had lasik surgery almost 4 years ago..it was the best decision of my life. I was a new Mommy and didnt want to keep dealing w/the hassel of glasses and contact w/midnight feedings and diaper changes etc. I am not sure where you live but I live in Mass and had my procedure done by Dr. Neilson. He is amazing and so was all the staff. They actually made me watch a video of the procedure so I knew exactly what was going to happen.

You can absolutely stand right afterward.. the procedure itself only takes minutes and most of that is prep time. You lay down they tell you to hold still and you see a bright light ..i think it was about 10 seconds on each eye and then your done, that when they make the flip, after that they tell you to stay still again and its less than a minute i believe while they actaully use the laser to correct, they pull the flip back over and everything will look blurry... you can stand up right after and they give you sun glasses to wear...best thing to do is go home and go to bed so your eyes have time to begin the healiing process...i had mine done at like 10 am and by dinner time i felt great. I had to work the next day as well and I was fine-- i stare at the computer all day. It takes a while to fully heal afterward but just make sure you use the drops they give you - antibiotic is very important so it doesnt get infection.

good luck - self

Also consider all the risks of LASIK and ANY other eye surgery. Its EASY think about all the good things that may or may not happen to Your vision due to the eye surgery. the long term effects are still not known. In Dallas they have a large clinic just for LASIK failures. Know all the risks before You get any laser eye surgery. Not trying to discourage you just being honest and realistic. Nurse Jen
