Question: How should you actually see street lights/lamps?

So my questions is, am i seeing these normal. How should you really see street lamps.
On a forum a user said he/she had started noticing halos around lights and others thought she/he should certainly see a doctor. I couldn't understan the fuss as I have always seen lights as in the images above.
Thank you in advance.

I thought everyone saw street lamps like this? :/
Do you wear glasses. I do and this is how I see streetlights. If I take my glasses off my eyesight is so bad everything is blurry anyway so I couldn't tell you if they should appear clearer.
Any bit of mist or fog an streetlights are going to do that. Sodium or high pressure sodium tend to be the main offenders. (Due to wavelengths of the spectral lines being over a narrow band perhaps?).
that's how i see them if i'm looking through a window, not normally though, i just see the light not the misty stuff around them its just the light
