The definition of being blind states that: Vision is worse than 20/200 and is NOT correctable with glasses or contact lenses. You can be blind in one eye only or both eyes, depending on if they fit the criteria.

OR You can be blind if you have a visual field spanning less than 20 degrees. Again, that can be one or both eyes.

So if you can see just fine when you have your glasses on, YOU ARE NOT BLIND. Which is usually the case for most people.

If you can't see squat without your glasses, then you *might* be blind. I can't tell you if you are blind because I don't know how well you can see.

A prescription for glasses and the Snellen chart measurement have nothing to do with each other. It is impossible to predict what you would see on the Snellen chart with or without your glasses. I can make an estimate of what it might be, but that certainly is not set in stone.

Assuming you can see just fine with your glasses on, when you wear your glasses you'd probably be 20/20. Your prescription is a pretty average prescription so I wouldn't expect you to have an issue. (Again, I don't know because I have not examined you in person.)

I would also estimate that you probably see about 20/400 when you do not wear your glasses. Again, this does NOT mean you are blind even though you would see worse than 20/200 like the defintion states. You are only blind if glasses or contact lenses do NOT help you to see better.

I am an optometry intern.

Your prescripion provides no information about your acuity or whether you are blind.

Legal blindness is based on how well you see when wearing your glasses. If you want to know your acuity (#/20) with glasses call your eye doctor and ask, it would have been measured at your last eye exam. You can be sure that if you were legally blind, your doctor would have informed you, would have referred to your local association for the blind for services, and would have filled out forms to register you for various benefits.
