Is it normal for a teenager to have floaters in his eye.?!


Question: Is it normal for a teenager to have floaters in his eye.?
I also sometimes (rarely) see lightening bug like flashes floating around. And I also see a black spot in my direct line of site if I focus. And I am near sighted.

black spot, thats bad. my aunt had that and it turned out she had detached her retina somehow
but floaters are okay, ive had then since i was little, i live in the tropics and thought they were snow but it doesnt snow



No, it's not normal to have the symptoms you describe. Have your parents contact the emergency room and ask if they have an opthomologist on duty or can get one to come in. From the symptoms you describe, it may be something that needs immediate attention as it may threaten your eyesight. If you see flashes of light along with a lot of floaters, that could be a sign of a detached retina. Something that needs immediate attention.
