should i wear glasses all the time now (except for reading?)?!

Question: Should i wear glasses all the time now (except for reading?)?
Should I wear glasses all the time when I get my new glasses that will be -2 and -1.50? People say it'll be like "wow I can see" and I won't even want to take them off. Is that true

Only you know if it would be true for you or not. Wear your glasses and find out. If you enjoy seeing the world clearly, wear them all the time. If it doesn't matter to you, don't.

It depends on what kind of glasses you get and what problem your eyes have. If you need them only for reading then you wear them only then. Ask your eye doctor. He/she will give you the right answer. I do know that it's best to try to avoid wearing glasses all the time otherwise the eyes get "lazy". You shouldn't strain your eyes for too long but exercise them by reading without the glasses sometimes, providing you can make out what you're reading.

With your spectacles being a minus rating, that means you need them for long distance vision. And as such you don't need to wear them for reading. You could still leave them on, but you might have to take them off if you feel some difference with reading.

I have worn spectacles since I was 13 yrs old, and now I have the vari-vocals lenses which give me fantastic vision and I can read with them as well. But I take them off for reading a book, and can read with comfort without them.

I would advise you to wear them when your out and about, and don't take them off, even if your self-conscious tells you to do. By not wearing your glasses regularly you strain your eyes and make them worse.

Your eyes are only a small difference in correction, but if you want to read the number of the bus that is arriving then wear them all the time.

I'll be nice to read things in perspective won't it?

Try taking n-acetyl cysteine and lipoic acid and avoid stress effecting your eyes.

Some people think the eyes are an isolated organ and that when they begin to fail healing is not an option. This is technically incorrect. Blood flow, a healthy nervous system and diet are all factors.

Most lenses refract light incorrectly for the periphery of the retina. This why people who wear regular glasses and soft contact lenses have higher rates of myopia progression compared to people who use spherical contact lenses (eg ortho-k), plus power lenses and holistic methods.

I work at an opticians! Have you not worn glasses before? That prescription is for shortsightedness and you wouldn't believe the difference when you put them on, they'll make everything a lot sharper. I shouldn't think you'd have to wear them all the time but I'd advise you to use them for driving. I'd still ask your opticians though.

Probably. Actually, -2.00 is "bad" enough that you may feel more comfortable reading with them. Well, your eyes are not particularly bad, but you definately need glasses, and may be better wearing them all the time now.

Your optician should have told you when you need to wear your glasses, ie all the time, or TV and driving or whatever.
If they didn't, then ask them when you go to pick them up.

Just try it on first later and see for yourself. I, for one, have eyes as bad as you but don't care enough to wear glasses (it does help my vision a lot though).

Why wouldn't you wear them when you read?
