Have you ever had laser surgery to correct your vision?!

Question: Have you ever had laser surgery to correct your vision?
I'm getting to the stage that i'm unable to wear contact lenses all the time and really don't fancy wearing my glasses for the rest of my life. Was considering laser eye surgery but really not sure about it. Any advice please from those who have had it? Thanksx

I had it done at the age of 35 and the results were brilliant, I went from -5 in each eye to supervision. What I did not realise is that the results are not permanent so 7 years later I have had to get glasses again, as I am -1.5 in each eye. Maybe in future I will get lenses.
I used to hate glasses so that is why I had the op, now I feel more confident in myself and the glasses are really nice and the lenses very light so I am very happy with them and am happy that my vision is perfect again!

Hiya, I have not had Laser Eye Surgery but I know someone who has. She went into the eye clinic for one day to get her left eye done and was out on the same day. She then went in again to get her right eye done. Now she doesn't need glasses all the time, just for reading. She can see clearly now too. She just said they give you a light to focus on whilst they do the op and that it wasn't uncomfortable with it. So I would recommend it.

Friends Experience

I have a few friends who have had it done, one now has near perfect vision and couldnt be happier but the others two are less impressed by the results. One suffers from severe "halo effect" at night and can no longer drive after dark because of it. The other still needs glasses but did have a quite severe prescription to start with. I did look at getting it done myself but was advised by a friend who is an optician that at my age (44) and with my prescription (-3.25/-3.0) with an astigmatism; that I would be unlikely to get the full benefit.

My friend had it done last year and she absolutely raves about it. She used to be very short sighted (prescription -6) and now she has perfect vision and doesn't need glasses or contact lenses. I think it cost her quite a lot of money but she said it was worth every penny. So from what i've seen from her, i would definitely recommend it, just make sure you do your research and chose a reputable company. Good luck :-) x

Hi my mother has had it and it worked really well for her. She still does use her glasses to read but otherwise she did fine with the laser surgery.
