Can you give me some REALLY good eye exercises that improve your vision?!

Question: Can you give me some REALLY good eye exercises that improve your vision?
I have heard of and I am using palming and the exercise where you focus on a short distance object, then a long distance object. I have heard of the Bates method but it is really confusing and I doubt "having a colour day" will help. Are there, perhaps, any methods that improves eye vision? I am able to do the exercises 5-10 minutes so it doesn't matter how long I'd have to do it as long as it isn't too long or anything. Oh yeah, I am eleven and have really bad vision (I got it from reading, apparently), and I can't see far away things that well, they are blurry and it is kind of embarrassing to ask how long would it take to get from a 5(not sure what 5 maybe +5) to normal vision. Not particularly 20/20 just enough so I can see far away things.

~Thanks in advance.

You're right, your problem comes from reading and other short-distance activities such as computer, videogames, schoolwork and so on.
The Bates method is not just old, it's ancient (early '900), and that's why it doesn't work. You should try modern methods such as the one by De Angelis which in my opinion is the best. I'm having great results and now I'm just -0.75 from an initial -3.75

This is the book that explains the method

You need glasses or contacts. I've worn glasses since I was in first grade and my eyes are 600 600.

"Are there, perhaps, any methods that improves eye vision?"

none that work

"Oh yeah, I am eleven and have really bad vision (I got it from reading, apparently)"

NO. you didn't get it from reading. whomever told you that or wherever you read that - that is totally & completely false. you got it from GENETICS. your parents.

"and I can't see far away things that well, they are blurry and it is kind of embarrassing to ask how long would it take to get from a 5(not sure what 5 maybe +5)"

bad far away vision is nearsightedness...so that probably -5.00 not +

"but I heard if I keep wearing them my vision will get worse and worse"

no. your vision may get worse & worse but its not BECAUSE of glasses.

"and exercises do help, my doc recommended it"

no, they don't and I bet he/she didn't

"and eating special foods to maintain it"

no special food reduces myopia

"It may not improve but perhaps it will stay the same"

no

"Contacts have many side effects"

like what? clear vision?

Sorry...you are just wasting your time. There are no exercises that are going to improve your vision.

If there was, your Dr. would have told you about it a long time ago. Your parents, friends...everybody would have told you. It would be common knowledge if they worked and everyone would be doing them.

Take a bit of time and study how vision works and you will quickly see that things like palming are just a joke.

Your vision won't get worse by wearing glasses. It may get worse in time, but it has nothing to do with wearing your glasses. Your Doc DIDN'T recommend exercises like that or a special diet to maintain your vision at the same place...you misunderstood , or dreamed it.

I don't know where you got the idea contacts have many side effects either....that isn't true.

You are just full of false beliefs and bad information.

All you can do is wear your glasses so you can see well for daily life, and maybe get contacts in a year or two. Maybe when you get to your early 20's , you will be a good candidate for laser surgery , which is the only way to eliminate myopia, which is what you have.
