my eyes are gray and they have this swirly ring outside the colored part. you have to look closely in the picture to see it, but its there. anyone see anything like it or know what it is?

Answers:

It's hard for me to tell from the picture, but I think these are Brushfield spots (also called Krunkmann-Wolfian bodies). The spots are just aggregates of connective tissue in your iris and they are perfectly normal.

There is a higher incidence of these spots in infants with Down syndrome, but this disorder need not be present.

Try doing a google image search for Brushfield spots and see if any of the images look like your eyes.
