Which are better contacts or glasses ?!

Question: Which are better contacts or glasses ?
HI i have been wearing glasses for about 3 and a half years now and my glasses are really annoying me because the frame snaps of the sides bend and contacts look better to me. But i have read some info about them and reviews aren't very positive so please let me know what you think ?

I think the two methods of correction complement each other.

Glasses are usually cheaper and easier to take care of. Glasses let you show off your style with a great set of frames. Some people uses glasses like an accessory; you can creat different "looks" for yourself with different frames (although, if you are not careful, you can also demonatrate your complete lack of fashion sense !) They provide a bit of protection (like when you are walking in a crowd in the rain, the little nibbins from other people's umbrellas don't poke your eyes). You can get protection from sunlight if desired (I never heard of "sun contacts").

If you need a really strong prescription, contacts will look better (you can get dates!). They are better if you are out in the rain or snow, they don't fog up or get splattered. There is usually less distortion and better peripheral vision with contacts, and they don't bounce around (so contacts are usually better for sports). They allow you to change your eye color. Contacts usually cost more and are more of a bother to take care of. If you get pink eye, or certain other conditions, you won't be able to wear them for a while, so you really need some glasses for "emergency use" if you are going to wear contacts.

As far as which corrects your vision better, it depends on your prescription, glasses usually work better if you have astigmatism, contacts will work better for very strong sphere corrections (less distortion/size change and less nerdy looking apearance).

i've worn contacts for 40 years and they are absolutely fantastic. I don't knwo what reviews you've read but the fact that manufacturers produce an increasing number of disposable lenses means that a lot of people are buying them and regularly. They wouldn't do that if everythign about them was negative.

With contacts you get a better field of vision, your depth perception is better, they dont' mistup /get covered in water if it rains. You don't have smeared vision because they are dirty, they dont' get knocked off and broken. If you do sports then the difference is huge and if you have daily disposables you can wear them to swim.

You do have to be careful with contacts. You have to be careful with hygiene , using solution correctly, having regular checkups, not overwearing. you need glasses as backup as you can't wear lenses all day and if you are ill /have a cold you may have problems wearing. They are good but expensive.

Having said all this and I really favour glasses. there is no reason your frame should snap. The new sorts of lightweight metal frames are virtually unbreakable although to be fair I don't wear mine out as I always use contacts outside. Go for it - don't believe negative reviews.

Contacts are amazing! I had glasses up until 4th grade and I hated them, so my mom let me get contacts in 5th and I loved them! I'm in 8th now, and I couldn't imagine life without my contacts! As long as you don't fall asleep with them in, and make sure to change them when they are old you're good! Also wearing torn contacts hurts really bad, I accidentally put in a ripped one and it hurt so bad! And when they fall out it sucks too, but they ususally don't! Contacts are so much better then glasses! But you should keep your glasses for back-up. I used to, but my little brother snapped them in half when he was mad at me...haha. You should definetely try contacts!

Me! :D

It depends on how responsible you are. My mom got my brother contacts, and he just did everything wrong with them. So if you feel your responsible enough (which I think you are) then get contracts =)
