Is regular or waterproof mascara safer for contact lens wearers?!

i've worn contacts for 40 years - I don't always wear makeup with them but I have done. It doesn't really matter if you use regular or waterproof. I think unscented and hypo-allergenic is best as if it does get onto your lenses it doesnt' irritate as much. its not absolute agony if you get specks on your contacts - just get them otu and swill them off with solution. Once they are in with soft lenses a couple of eyedrops normally fixes the problem. Crying is better but then you end up with people askign you what is wrong. i think more important than brand is to make sure the makeup is fresh. Chuck it out if you have to , mascara of any brand flakes more when it gets older so keep an eye out.

Wait until you've got the hang of lenses before using makeup so you don't have an extra complication. Put the lenses in before you put on makeup. You may need to adjust teh way you do your makeup as your eyes will look different without glasses and you need to do makeup quite differently. So pick a first time when you've got enough time. you may need to buy new colours etc as well.
