Do i need glasses for words that are blurry from a distance?!

Question: Do i need glasses for words that are blurry from a distance?
I'm 18 and I've always had very good vision. Until today, I was sitting way back in the classroom and my teacher was doing a powerpoint presentation. I looked at the words and they started to blur and I had to blink and squint my eyes several times. I thought maybe there was something in my eyes causing it, but when i kept looking, the words were still a bit blurry. I was able to make most of the words out. Do you think I should get my eyes checked out? I honestly know nothing about eyes and glasses. Is it possible that i may need glasses for things that I can't read well from a far distance? Please help.

If you've noticed a slight problem once on a powerpoint presentation I wouldn't bother to go and get a test. AFter all the screen might not have been in perfect focus. if you constantly have odd problems being able to see from teh back of the class or other distant objects then go and get your eyes checked. Not that it does any harm to get your eyes checked if you are worried, but it doesn't really sound like at the moment you have a significant problem with your vision.

yeah you might. I was just like you, always thought my vision was good till my stepmom scheduled an eye exam for me when I was 18. I learned I had mild astigmatism. It got worse as I got older. I now wear both glasses and contacts. Glasses to work most days and contacts some days and weekends.

yea just go get em checked. might cost you something if you don't have insurance. so look for a place that offers a free eye exam or go to the nurse.
