My blind brother woke up this morning and...?!

Question: My blind brother woke up this morning and...?
my brother has been blind for about a month because he had an accident with fireworks. what happened was one of the fireworks hit his eye, damaged the bone in between his eyes, and messed up the nerves in the other eye. he has been able to see nothing but complete black. no shadows, no light.
this morning he woke up and said he could see light. he described it as a white light. that was when the blinds were open and the sun and light was shining in. we turned the lights out and it got darker for him. kind of grayish. basically, the amount of white/gray or black he saw changed depending on the amount of light.
we were told by doctors he would most likely get some vision back but not a lot. how did that happen that he could all of a sudden see light?

His eyes are healing, as the doctors said they would.

If he had totally lost all vision and was seeing only black, then the first step in getting vision back would be being able to tell light from dark. That seems to be what has happened. Although it seems sudden, likely he has been slowly improving and is just now at the point where he can tell light from dark.

The human body is a wonderful facet of God's creation, and it has the ability to repair itself. Maybe your brother will never completely regain his vision, but at least he may regain some light recognition.

the damage wasn't permanent. His eyes are recovering/ healing from the accident.

mirracles do happen
