Specsavers or Vision Express for glasses?!

Question: Specsavers or Vision Express for glasses?
well I happen to be short sighted (Myopic) and am due for an eye test. I was wondering which one of the two is better.
I'm looking for value for money (cost of glasses, maintenance and adjustments).
This is an attempt at avoiding market research...as I am lazy :)

Any help would be much appreciated

Thank You :)

Here's my advice: go to your local eye doctor and get your prescription. Then take this prescription (this is legal - they may not want to give it to you, but it's part of what you pay for in your exam) and then go shopping online. You will save SO MUCH MONEY!

One site you can check out is www.replacementlensexpress.com. They are based in the states but ship all over the world. They have a very extensive selection of lenses, which start at $25. I find that if you go for the cheapo sites like zenni or elsewhere where they only cost $8 or so, then you really get a cheap product and the customer service sucks.

They don't show their frames online (well they show two lines - Ray-Ban and Sama Eyewear) but they can really get you whatever you want. All you need to do is e-mail their optician at info@replacementlensexpress.com and ask to give you a price quote. Or if you already have frames that you want to keep, just send in your frames and have them pop in your new lenses.

Don't just consider chains. If you are looking at overall cost a local opticians can be better . Mine do all maintenance and adjustments free - I just have to drop in and moan if my glasses are slightly off. Also they will ensure that your glasses are made up properly etc. but it does depend on your getting a good one. I don't think anyone can give you an exact best - its not just about money its about teh optician. They really aren't all equally good - a good optician is a major treasure.

Hi I work for Vision Express so I'm of course biased but we've certainly got a fantastic designer range of frames and a massive designer 2 for 1 promotion that's flying out the door!
Take care with your purchase as buying glasses is as much about the right professional and individual eye-care, matching your lifestyle and getting frames that fit perfect plus the best aftercare and simple repairs for free as it is selecting a design of glasses you like the look of. Look online at visionexpress.com for a discount

or pop into one of our stores for more ... and I hope we can help! :-)
