am i likely to need glasses?!

Question: Am i likely to need glasses?
i am 22 and can see things clearly but get quite tired eyes and sometimes headaches when i've been doing uni work. Once my eyes are tired i struggle to maintain focus, and have to give up, although this tends to be after an hour or so of work. I've never had my eyes tested but have an appointment for next week and wondered if it seemed likely i would be given glasses. thanks

That's exactly what happened to me! but i could not see the whiteboard no matter where i sat.
So yes its kind of likely you will be given glasses.

Here's my advice: go to your local eye doctor and get your prescription. Then take this prescription (this is legal - they may not want to give it to you, but it's part of what you pay for in your exam) and then go shopping online. You will save SO MUCH MONEY!

One site you can check out is www.replacementlensexpress.com. They are based in the states but ship all over the world. They have a very extensive selection of lenses, which start at $25. I find that if you go for the cheapo sites like zenni or elsewhere where they only cost $8 or so, then you really get a cheap product and the customer service sucks.

They don't show their frames online (well they show two lines - Ray-Ban and Sama Eyewear) but they can really get you whatever you want. All you need to do is e-mail their optician at info@replacementlensexpress.com and ask to give you a price quote. Or if you already have frames that you want to keep, just send in your frames and have them pop in your new lenses.

Sounds like you are slightly longsighted. You would only need them for reading and close work.
