well it could have been a defective lens or it could have been the surgeon's fault.
since the surgeon will not answer you as to why and how it broke my money is on it being the surgeon's fault.

i would see a different surgeon for a consult to see if there's anything they can do for you besides glasses and/or contacts and also get their opinion on the whole situation.

if you feel that it was the surgeon's i would seek out a lawyer because you may be entitled to compensation for the dr screwing up.

i'm 24 and i had cataract surgery in may of 2009. (i had a lens put in that was 9 times the strenghth i needed so now i have to wear glasses for the rest of my life. although it was not the surgeon's fault it was my eye's fault cuz my eyes are so unique that it messed with the calculations)
