What causes one eye to be worse in vision than another?!

Question: What causes one eye to be worse in vision than another?
If it's straining I don't understand why one would be worse than the other, just wondering. My glasses are for 1.50 in one eye and 1.25 in another. They were both at 1 not even a year ago. I'm hoping they're not going to keep getting worse. What is the number (sort of like 1.50) of prescription when you're considered legally blind? I'm just wondering how bad my eyesight is in comparison, as I know they said it's not that bad. I think my eye sight is getting worse so quickly because of having to do so much reading and driving and computer for University, but I'm unsure. If there's anything you think I can do to help, please let me know. I just got the new prescription yesterday so am just beginning to wear this strength.

Answers:

Well no two things on the human body are exactly the same, so it could be a mixture of genetics, or if you rub your eyes it could scratch your cornea and blur your vision just a bit. I you do so in one eye more often than the other, that could cause you to have two different prescriptions.
