Why do my eyes keep going out of focus?!

Question: Why do my eyes keep going out of focus?
I'm 17, I read a lot, do a lot of research on the computer, and wear glasses/contacts. Lately I've started noticing that when I get bored and zone out, my eyes go unfocused. I can make this happen, and at first I didn't realize I was doing it. Sometimes it happens on its own though. And I tried to read a book the other day and noticed that I could barely focus on the words, they kept blurring- even though the book was right in front of my face (I have a habit of holding the book close because of my bad vision). Is this normal, or something I should worry about? It's starting to make me not want to read, and making it difficult to concentrate on school because my eyes keep going out of focus. Help?

2 questions -- do you have your contacts in/glasses on when reading, and are you nearsighted or farsighted (are your contacts/glasses to help you see up close or far away)? Personally I'm nearsighted, and my contacts are made to see things that are far away -- so when I read something up close, it's a little bit blurry. If you can already read up close without lenses, it might just be that your nearsighted perscription is blurring your up close vision. If your trouble is with up close things though and you have lenses for this, you probably need a new prescription. Sometimes when I'm tired or have been staring at the computer screen for hours this happens with my contacts too, not sure if that could be your issue?

keep off the computer, reading is fine. try to pay more attention
you possibly need glasses, see an eye doctor.

this happens to me whenever i dont wear my glasses.

don't worry im only 13 and the same exact thing happens to me - no joke! i think its pretty common and its because you arn't rlly paying attention

me!
