Right eye problem, do I need glasses?!

Question: Right eye problem, do I need glasses?
I am really worried, so please help me.

Here's the problem:
When I was at doctor 3 years ago (on eye check) I noticed I didn't see quite well on my right eye, but I cheated a little, and uncovered my left eye a little to read the letters on the board, so the doctor didn't notice. I cheated because I don't like the idea of wearing glasses. (I am 19 already, all my friends know me without glasses).
And few months ago, my right eye (while I got cold) became swollen as if someone had hit me, with a bruise below the eye. The doctor gave me boric acid to (or in my language it's called Borat acid) to put around the eye and some eye drops. And I got healthy. And two days ago, my right eye has started being filled with tears, and it even hurt a little when I moved it. It was like something was in my eye, but it wasn't. (It's even teary a little right now)
I know I should visit doctor, but please tell me what do you think do I need glasses, how high dioptre has to be to wear glasses, and if I do need glasses, how will I get used to them, because perhaps some of you think I'm an idiot because I think like this, but try to understand me, I really don't like the idea of wearing glasses...

I think that you fear of the unknown!! Wearing glasses is not the end of the world, you also have a chances of lens, just consult an ophthalmologist again. Remember that keeping an eye is more important by far than any embarrassing feelings.
N.B: I try to look up the word " dioptre" but I failed, could you please try to explain it?

First, you need to have a doctor look at the eye and get whatever is going on cleared up. if that eye is the only one that doesn't see well, maybe you could get contacts; you would only need them for the "bad" eye (unless you get the color changing ones). Another alternative to glasses is you could get a monocle, it would make quite a fashion statement!

you should get a contact for that one eye

Your eye problem is an internal condition related to the cornea tissue. Because the swelling and infection is from within the eye.

Wearing glasses would help your vision and lessen the straining of the eye. Even if you wore glasses daily, your eye would of still swollen up.

Other than going to your primary care medical doctor, you need to go to an Ophthalmologist (a doctor who specializes in eyes and diseases of the eye). They can determine treatment and care of the right eye to avoid future problems.

sounds to me if you hadn't "cheated yourself", there might not be a problem now, but anyway, take a deep breath, quit whining about being afraid, and go to the optometrist. What ever is happening needs looked at before it gets worse. Of course, maybe you'd like the pirate look, or a glass eye. Then again, there is such a thing as contacts, or wearing glasses as needed, I think you'd find it's not that big of a deal afterall. OOOOrrrrrrrr.....it could turn out to be really minor, but only a dr.'s exam will give you the answer you really want.
