there are people with far bigger disabilities than you that go swimming, try saying you have got a very bad back.

Didn't you ask this yesterday?

I assume you are trying to find an excuse to NOT have the swimming lessons:

You might be able to get your eye doctor to write a letter stating something like "due to her poor uncorrected vision, it presents a very real hazard when swimming, as she might not be able to find the edge of the pool. This could lead to greivous bodily injury or death; almost cetainly resulting in expensive litigation for the school system".

Personally, I don't think your eye doctor will write it, he/she will probably claim you should be able to see the the edge of the pool, even without your glasses, but it is worth a try.

By the way, I'm sure you aren't the first person at your school that has had this issue, what did they do in the other cases? They will probably do the same thing with you.

Maybe the school has some "loaner" prescription swimming goggles?

You might be able to use your glasses if you put the stuff on the lenses that makes the water bead up and roll right off (of course they won't work under water). If you do this, get one of the elastic straps so you don't lose your glasses in the pool.

PS: if you have always wanted contacts, this would be a good time to ask your mother. Say something like: "this is an emergency, I have to have contacts, and swimming goggles or I'll fail PE".

if u were blind, then id see it as a good excuse..

Go for it!
