You need to talk to your doctor about getting lenses that are safe to sleep in. Young people have a tendency to think that anything they have gotten away with once is safe. Drive 90 mph. If you don't die, it must be safe. Have unprotected sex. If you're not pregnant it must have been safe. Sometimes you get lucky but if you do enough stupid dangerous things, eventually it will catch up with you. Sleeping in your contacts when your doctor told you not to would be in that category.

yeah, i know what you mean "why cant I" but i have a good argument about that.. a couple of years ago (when i was in the 8th) i had a bad Habit of sleeping with my contacts in. ANYWAYS one day during a major test i just got a sharp pain in my left eye nd i didn't think nothing of it. so i went a couple of more days with it. i started getting sensitive to light and such. i finally got tired of it and went to the doctor and he told me that i had something called Irides (basically i had a bacteria that grew behind my contact nd was eating a hole in my freaking eye!!). he said that if i would have went ONE more day with it i would've lost my eye @_@..yep

If you wear your lenses for longer than you should your eyes dont' get enough oxygen. Doing this constantly means that your eyes will start to be damaged. the first sign you'll notice is blurry vision which contacts and glasses can't correct. At that point your eyesight may never recover and at best you face weeks of not seeing properly and being in pain whilst your eyes heal. You may also never be able to waer contacts again. Having had this happen to me , although not by ignoring the doctors advice, I can tell you it is best avoided adn was one of the worst experiences of my life.

Your Dr. said you shouldn't , so you want permission from strangers who have never seen you or even know what type of lenses you are wearing, to tell you it's ok ?

Don't ask if it's OK...it isn't...your Dr. already told you that.

That is just a bad, lazy habit that is going to cause you problems for sure. Don't be surprised when it happens.

You can, they just will need to be changed sooner since your body is putting more proteins, bacteria, etc. on them, and they will begin to hurt your corneas. My eye doctor says that I have damaged cornea from leaving them in too long.
